NVVA Galaxy League Winter Kickoff

Winter Session 1 Kicks Off at NVVA

STERLING, VA -- The Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (NVVA) launched its Galaxy League Winter 1 Session on November 11th, ushering in another season of thrilling volleyball action for young athletes. This unique program, a cornerstone of the NVVA, caters to students in grades 3-12, fostering a love for the sport in a fun, inclusive environment.

"We're not just about building volleyball skills," says Rodrigo Gomes. "Galaxy League is about teamwork, sportsmanship, and creating a lifelong passion for physical activity. Every child deserves a chance to shine, regardless of skill level."

The league, which runs for eight weeks at the Virginia Volleyball Center, is structured into three divisions:

  • Stardust Division: Geared towards beginners, this division emphasizes the fundamentals, ensuring a solid foundation and a fun introduction to the sport.

  • Galactic Division: Players with some experience will find their place in this division, which focuses on positional play and more advanced techniques.

  • Universal Division: Designed for seasoned athletes, the Universal Division elevates the game with strategic play, fast-paced action, and advanced skill refinement.

With no tryouts required, Galaxy League breaks down barriers to entry, making volleyball accessible to all. Expert NVVA coaches guide participants through engaging practice sessions, culminating in an exciting end-of-season tournament.

"We believe in creating a well-rounded experience," adds Gomes. "Galaxy League combines high-quality coaching with a supportive community atmosphere where every athlete can thrive."
